conversations

i can admit it, i am an idea stealer. i have no goods blog material lately so i have decided that when this happens to blog about my family and the people i love...an idea that i stole from another blogger. here goes:

conversations with...grandpa and grandma healy.

meet my grandparents on my momma's side. they are awesome and funny and always entertaining. i asked them a few simple questions...our conversation went like this...

me: okay you two, what is your favorite color?
grandma: oh you know mine...light pink. i don't much care for dark pink at all though.
grandpa: (looking at grandma) what did she say?
grandma: (yelling) SHE WANTS TO KNOW YOUR FAVORITE COLOR. (speaking to me again) his favorite color is blue honey.
grandpa: Blue
me: what is the first car you ever drove?
grandma: SHE WANTS TO KNOW WHAT THE FIRST...
grandpa: I heard her! It was a 192...no wait...193...1927 chev coach. it was an odd looking thing.
grandma: He tipped that car over!
me: how many great grandchildren do you have now?
grandma: oh honey, i don't keep track anymore...there are a lot.
me: where do you like to fish grandpa?
grandpa: deer creek
grandma: no! it used to be deer creek and now it's red creek.
me: where is red creek?
grandpa: it is 6.5 miles past fruitland but fruitland isn't there anymore...it's just 6.5 miles past where fruitland used to be.
grandma: pixie! (pixie is the dog) down! kaleb, just give her a little smack and tell her "down!" when she jumps on you.
kaleb: but she likes me!

that ended the question asking...but they had a good time getting lyla to smile and coo at them.

they are such awesome grandparents. i remember staying at their home all the time when i was younger. i am lucky to have them and i feel blessed that my children get to be around them too!
