soccer

kaleb has been playing soccer this fall season and it has been so much fun. they practice for 20 minutes and then they play a game with 2 twelve minutes halves. the kids are all 4 years old and somehow kaleb got on a team of all boys. each game is hilarious. the sidelines are filled with parents snapping pics and yelling at their kids to kick the ball or run or pay attention (myself included). i look forward to his soccer game each week just so i can have a good laugh and cheer on my kid!!

here is kaleb and his coach practicing a side throw in.

funny little story: corey's dad scott comes and watches kaleb play. while kaleb was sitting out, waiting for his turn to rotate into the game, we were telling him to yell "go blue" and cheer for his team. once kaleb was sent in to play, a kid kicked the ball in his direction and kaleb took off with the ball. all of a sudden he stops, mid field, and yells over to the sidelines, "grandpa, grandpa, grandpa, grandpa, grandpa..." we were all yelling telling him to run and kick the ball and he just kept yelling at scott. i finally told scott to just answer him and when he did kaleb says to him, "grandpa, you gotta yell go blue, okay?!?" scott shouts go blue and off kaleb runs. it was so funny. by the time he took off running again the ball was long gone. he is such a fun boy and we love watching him grow up and be able to do some of these fun things!

kaleb and his team after the game. so excited that they won! (really, no one keeps score so who knows who won.)

and this girl has some skills for her age. looks like we have a future soccer player here as well!!

Kids soccer games are the best! Its like a little huddle chasing the ball, probably more entertaining than most soccer games I've seen. GO BLUE!!
