flying

corey tells me on saturday morning, "hey honey, you get to go fly in an airplane tonight!"  my nice husband arranges for me to be able to do fun things all the time...so i felt really bad when i told him no way!  i have this weird fear of little planes.  i think he was a little sad that i didn't want to go but his dad went instead.  we headed to the provo airport to watch them take off and to show kaleb the plane.  corey's friend/pilot was so nice to let us take some pics of kaleb in his plane.

kaleb in the driver's seat.

standing next to the plane.  he wanted to touch the wings.

sitting in the back seat with auntie mandi (corey's littlest sis).

at this point corey asks kaleb if he wants to ride in the airplane up over the mountains.  kaleb gives an excited YEAH!  my heart sinks with nervous mom feelings...but i am determined not to make my kids apprehensive just cause i am.  so they buckle kaleb in next to mandi, stick a headset on him and start to drive away.  i thought seriously about barfing at this point.

andy (the pilot), scott (corey's dad), mandi and kaleb taxiing to the runway.

daddy and lyla watching them go.
(she loves to wear kaleb's hat.  it makes him a little mad when she does though.)

right after take off.  check out that blue sky!

i followed the plane with my zoom lens as far as i could.  i was a little nervous.

they were up in the air for about an hour.  they flew up provo canyon, over sundance, up over strawberry, back down maple canyon and then back to the airport.  when they landed, andy turns around and says to kaleb, "did you like it bud?"  kaleb tells him, "i LOVE it!"  apparently it was funny!  i'm so glad  he had fun!

It looks like fun but I would've stayed on the ground with you. Small planes make me sick way too easily.

I think I would have been a nervous wreck too. Way to be a strong mom!
