every year for christmas my parents take all of the married couples out for dinner and a show of some sort. we usually go up to salt lake but this year we happily stayed close to home: eating dinner in our own private room (we are loud. and crude. and loud. private rooms are perfect for my family!) at the riverside country club. it was mucho fun and we all enjoyed our gourmet ding-dong desserts!! it turned out that ALL of my siblings were able to be in town for this event, which doesn't always happen. in attendance, in order by experience (aka age):

we followed up dinner by attending the bar J wranglers concert, a family band of talented/funny bluegrass singers. it was a blast and there are always laughs when we all get together.
